Royal College Specialist: This program is an Accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Canadian Thoracic Society. You may claim a maximum of 2 hours (credits are automatically calculated).
Family Physicians: This course is eligible for CFPC credits through reciprocal arrangement with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Other Healthcare professionals: This is a professional learning activity which provides up to 2 hours of Continuing Education.
At the end of this course, learners will be able to:
Describe COVID-19, its effects, available treatment options and identify populations at high-risk for severe outcomes
Use proper communication techniques to address COVID-19 prevention, including vaccine hesitancy and patient exposure risk assessment
Understand that long COVID (or post-COVID condition; PCC) is a disease in itself
Identify vulnerable populations for long COVID (or PCC) and apply a systematic approach to management

This course contains 4 modules covering topics such as acute COVID, general prevention, long COVID (or post-COVID condition) mechanisms and management and more.
The course is designed to be completed in two hours. But you can take as much time as you need and rewatch the lessons as many times as needed.
This course is offered between September 2023 and September 2024. In order to receive your certificate for credits, all lessons must be completed before July 2024.
