  • Identify “at risk” patients and how to escalate treatment through the review of a case study.

  • Apply best practices to evaluate and optimize COPD status virtually, with special consideration for promoting physical activity and reducing negative effects of social isolation.

About our speakers

Jean Bourbeau, MD, MSc, FRCPC

Dr. Jean Bourbeau is a respirologist, associate professor and the Director of the Research Institute MUHC’s Center for Innovative Medicine, the COPD Clinic and the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Unit at the MUHC Montreal Chest Institute. He has been President of the Canadian Thoracic Society. His work and research on COPD, pulmonary rehabilitation, integrated self-management programs for patients with COPD (‘Living Well with COPD’) have had an impact not only in the field of research, but also in clinical practice at the national and international level.

Peter Lin, MD, CCFP

Dr. Peter Lin is the Director of Primary Care Initiatives at the Canadian Heart Research Centre. He continues to be a lecturer and speaker with two busy family practices in Toronto. He has also served in the past as the medical director at the University of Toronto’s Health and Wellness Centre at Scarborough. In an effort to raise the knowledge base of the general population, Dr. Lin has spoken at public forums directly to the public. He has been a medical expert for a series on the Discovery channel and he is also the health columnist for CBC Radio and is heard across Canada.
